ANDEK ACCELERATOR is a formulated chemical additive containing a blend of chelated metal catalyst and amine accelerator for addition to urethane-based coatings. When added to approved Andek products, it accelerates the rate of curing at all temperatures. The accelerated curing process enables the professional applicator to complete an installation under extreme terminological challenges. Andek Accelerator may be used with Polaroof RAC, RoofdX Super, AIM #1, Encapsall Super, and other approved Andek products.

OUTSTANDING FEATURES:

§         Accelerates crosslink density development to provide earlier chemical and impact resistance

§         Allows curing to proceed immediately after initial set time

§        Accelerates cure rate at all temperatures

§         Adjusts viscosity of liquid coating without alteration of rheological profile

§         Reduces window of vulnerability to contamination or damage during curing

§         Allows for earlier application of topcoats or finishing layers

APPLICATION:

Caution! READ THIS ENTIRE DATA SHEET BEFORE CONTINUING.

Before use, also read the product data sheet for the product that is being combined with Andek Accelerator. Andek Accelerator may be used with Polaroof RAC, RoofdX Super, Encapsall Super, or AIM #1. The use of Andek Accelerator with any other Andek product should only be attempted after thorough consultation with the Andek Technical Department. After 30 seconds of vigorous shaking, open the container of Andek Accelerator, pour it into a 5 gallon pail of Andek coating, and stir thoroughly for 3 minutes, using an Andek ProPower Mixer or similar effective mechanical device. After thorough homogeneity has been achieved, let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes so that trapped air bubbles can rise up and escape from the coating mixture. Then apply the coating, following the instructions on the coating’s container label.

LIMITATIONS:

Andek Accelerator will reduce the pot life of the coating to approximately 3 hours.  Although Andek Accelerator will allow faster curing at low temperatures, do not apply any Andek coating to a frozen, damp, or wet surface.  Andek Accelerator should be stored between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C) in a dry area away from direct sunlight.

PRECAUTIONS:

READ AND UNDERSTAND THE ENTIRE ANDEK ACCELERATOR M.S.D.S. BEFORE APPLICATION.  ALSO, READ THE MSDS FOR THE PRODUCT BEING COMBINED WITH ANDEK ACCELERATOR.

This product contains solvents and reactive amines. Keep away from sources of heat, sparks and flame. Do not get in eyes or on skin or clothing. Wear standard safety equipment such as chemical splash goggles, rubber gloves, coveralls, and appropriate respirator when handling this product. Inhalation should be avoided. Persons with known respiratory allergies should avoid exposure to this product. In case of contact with eyes or skin, flush thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If Andek Accelerator is swallowed, inhaled, or in the event of eye contact, get medical assistance immediately. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
