T Catalyst is a metal chelate that is added to approved water based Andek coatings to boost viscosity and adjust the rheological behavior to individual application requirements.

T Catalyst will thicken the coating to a paste or caulk-like consistency, enabling

the coating to be used for repairs, preparation work, and other activities that require

a thickened material.  T Catalyst may be added in precise measured amounts to achieve the intended characteristics required by the applicator.

OUTSTANDING FEATURES:

§         Provides the exact application control demanded by the professional contractor

§         Allows exact color matching of detail and reinforcement material with the entire coating application

§         Provides rheological adjustment to improve film thickness yield on steep pitch profiles

§         Reacts rapidly to achieve target viscosity

§         Does not reduce pot life of the coating

§         Maintains excellent "wet edge" to accurately transition-in patched areas

§         Ensures 100% compatibility of all products incorporated into the coating system

APPLICATION:

Caution! READ THIS ENTIRE DATA SHEET BEFORE CONTINUING.

Before use, also read the product data sheet for the product that is being combined with the T Catalyst.

T Catalyst may be incorporated into the following Andek products: Polaroof SP, Polaroof AC, Polaroof Firegard, Polagard, Polagard ‘S’, Polagard Fibre Lastic, and Polagard Flex-O-Tex. The use of T Catalyst with any other Andek product should be attempted only after thorough consultation with the Andek Technical Department.    Add approximately 4 ounces of T Catalyst into a 5 gallon pail of Andek coating and stir slowly and thoroughly for about 3 minutes, using an Andek ProPower Mixer or similar effective mechanical device. Do not over-mix the product, as excessive shear will actually reduce the viscosity. After complete homogeneity has been achieved, let the mixture sit for approximately 5 minutes. This will allow trapped air bubbles to rise up and escape from the mixture and for the associative thickening effect to develop. If this viscosity is sufficient, then application may commence. If higher viscosity is required, add another 4 ounces of T Catalyst and repeat the procedure detailed above.  Continue the process until the target rheology is achieved. Then apply the mixed coating, following the instructions on the coating container label. label.

LIMITATIONS:

T Catalyst will not affect the pot life of any product with which it is combined.  Temperatures below 50°F (10°C) will delay the thickening process. Therefore, in colder weather, store both the Andek coating and the T Catalyst before use at 70°F (21°C) for faster thickening. Thickened coatings will not properly fill large gaps and voids as the shrinkage effect of drying may split the surface skin of the cured coating.  Consequently, in these situations, Roofab reinforcing fabric should be used to provide maximum cohesive strength and dimensional integrity.

PRECAUTIONS:

Read and understand the entire T Catalyst M.S.D.S. before application.  Also, read the M.S.D.S. for the product being combined with T Catalyst. This product contains alcohols and esters. Do not get in eyes or on skin or clothing.  Wear standard safety equipment such as chemical splash goggles, rubber gloves, coveralls, and appropriate respirator when handling this product.  Inhalation should be avoided. Persons with known respiratory allergies should avoid exposure to this product. In case of contact with eyes or skin, flush thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If T Catalyst is inhaled, swallowed, or in the event of eye contact, get medical assistance immediately.  Keep out of reach of children and pets.
