Description
RUBBERKOTE® 1047
Kevlar® Reinforced All-Weather Roof Repair Coating. Instant Leak Protection in Any Condition.
RUBBERKOTE® 1047 is a high-performance, fiber-reinforced waterproofing coating engineered for long-term roof repair and maintenance. Formulated with DuPont™ Kevlar® technology, it delivers exceptional strength, flexibility, and durability while forming a seamless, fully adhered waterproof membrane over a wide range of roofing substrates.
Designed to perform in the most demanding conditions, RUBBERKOTE® 1047 stops leaks instantly and permanently—even in wet, freezing, or fully submerged environments. Its advanced formulation allows for immediate application during active leaks, making it ideal for emergency repairs as well as long-term restoration.
Built for all-weather reliability, the cured membrane resists UV degradation, water intrusion, and temperature extremes without cracking, peeling, or washing away. RUBBERKOTE® 1047 maintains flexibility in cold climates and stability under high heat, ensuring dependable performance across a variety of roofing conditions and surface types.

RUBBERKOTE 1047 Application Guidelines
Surface Preparation
Although minimal preparation is required, all surfaces must be free of loose material, including stones, dirt, and debris, as well as grease, dust, rust, and standing water to the greatest extent possible. For optimal adhesion, remove biological contaminants such as bird droppings, algae, and slime mold by thorough scrubbing.
All holes, gaps, and joints must be reinforced by embedding ROOFAB between layers of RUBBERKOTE 1047. Apply sufficient coating to thoroughly wet the substrate and fully saturate the fabric. This is best achieved using a brush with a stippling technique.
Once preparation is complete, RUBBERKOTE 1047 may be applied over capsheet, modified bitumen, metal, transite, or concrete substrates in two coats at approximately 20 mils wet film thickness per coat.
Application
RUBBERKOTE 1047 may be applied directly over fresh, wet repairs; however, cure times may be extended. The first coat should be applied at a coverage rate of approximately 66 square feet per gallon.
While the first coat is still wet, embed ROOFAB into the coating and stipple thoroughly with a brush to eliminate voids, air pockets, and “tenting.” Ensure complete saturation of the fabric.
Apply the second coat at approximately 66 square feet per gallon once the first coat is sufficiently dry to walk on—typically 2 to 3 days at 65°F (18°C). Take care not to disturb any repairs or reinforced areas that may still be curing.
ROOFAB should be overlapped a minimum of 2 inches at all seams and fully saturated with RUBBERKOTE 1047 to ensure no dry areas remain.
RUBBERKOTE 1047 may also be applied over asphalt or coal tar built-up roofing (B.U.R.) systems following proper surface preparation.
Dry Time (Walkable)
Approximately 60 hours at 80°F (27°C) and 70% relative humidity.
Full Cure Time
Approximately 7 days at 80°F (27°C) and 70% relative humidity (to approximately 36 Shore A hardness).
Cleanup
Clean tools and equipment promptly using mineral spirits.
