POLAGARD FIBRELASTIC
Flexible Wall Protection. Crack Bridging. Long-Term Waterproofing
POLAGARD FIBRELASTIC is a premium-quality, single-component elastomeric wall coating engineered for permanent flexibility, durability, and long-term weather protection. Designed to accommodate thermal movement and structural stress, it bridges hairline cracks while maintaining a tough, protective waterproof barrier.
Once cured, POLAGARD FIBRELASTIC forms a seamless, breathable membrane that delivers both decorative appeal and long-lasting protection. It can be applied directly over a wide range of properly prepared substrates, providing reliable performance in demanding exterior environments.
Its elastomeric formulation allows the coating to expand and contract with the substrate, helping prevent cracking, peeling, and water intrusion over time while maintaining a clean, uniform finish.
Available in 24 standard colors, with custom color matching upon request.
Key Benefits
- Permanent Flexibility
Maintains elasticity to accommodate thermal movement and substrate shifting - Durable Waterproof Protection
Forms a long-lasting, weather-resistant barrier against rain, wind, snow, and ice - Hairline Crack Bridging

POLAGARD FIBRELASTIC Application Guide
Surface Preparation
- The substrate must be firm, clean, and free of dirt, efflorescence, oil, grease, loose debris, or any contaminants that may interfere with proper adhesion. A dry surface is preferred.
- If the substrate is damp, perform a test application over a 4 ft × 4 ft area. If no sagging or running occurs within 30 minutes and the coating appears to cure normally, full application may proceed.
- Previously coated or treated surfaces must be tested to confirm compatibility and adhesion.
- Repair all heavily pocked, spalled, or damaged areas prior to application. Fill cracks wider than 1/16″ using a premium-grade acrylic caulk, slightly mounding the material so the repair is flush with the surrounding surface. Allow repairs to cure for 4–6 hours before proceeding. Apply POLAGARD FIBRELASTIC over all repaired areas.
Application
POLAGARD FIBRELASTIC may be applied by brush, roller, or airless spray.
For roller application, a 1¼″ nap roller is recommended; nap thickness may be adjusted depending on substrate conditions. The product may be thinned with up to 3–5 ounces of water per gallon if necessary.
For waterproofing applications, apply two coats at 15–20 mils per coat. When spray-applied, backroll the first coat to improve penetration, enhance weatherproofing, and reduce pinholing.
Mix thoroughly for at least 2 minutes using a low-speed power mixer prior to application.
Apply to shaded areas whenever possible. Elevated surface temperatures in direct sunlight may cause rapid skinning, which can lead to blistering.
Spray Application
Use a 45:1 airless pump with a 3/8″ hose and a 41 tip size.
Recommended Thickness
Two coats yield approximately 17 mils dry film thickness (DFT).
Clean-Up
Clean tools and equipment with water while the material is still wet.
Limitations
- Do not apply to frozen or saturated surfaces.
- Do not apply if temperatures are expected to fall below 45°F (7°C) within 4 hours, unless proper enclosure and supplemental heat are provided.
- High humidity and precipitation may adversely affect application and adhesion. Do not apply if rain is forecast within 8 hours.
- Shelf life is approximately 1 year in unopened containers stored between 45°F (7°C) and 90°F (32°C). Protect from freezing. Keep containers tightly sealed and covered when not in use.
