AIM #1

High-Performance Urethane Waterproofing & Protective Membrane

AIM #1 is a liquid-applied moisture-cure urethane coating engineered to form a tough, flexible, and highly durable protective barrier. Designed for demanding industrial and infrastructure applications, it provides long-term waterproofing and chemical resistance for concrete, metal, and composite surfaces exposed to severe environmental conditions.

Once cured, AIM #1 forms a rubber-like membrane with excellent elasticity and high tensile strength. It is designed to accommodate substrate movement while maintaining a continuous, seamless barrier that resists water intrusion and chemical attack. Its performance makes it suitable for surface applications, buried membranes, and below-grade waterproofing.

AIM #1 is widely used in heavy-duty environments such as chemical containment areas, transportation infrastructure, marine structures, and below-grade waterproofing systems where durability and flexibility are critical.

Key Benefits

  • Extreme Durability
Forms a tough, high-performance membrane resistant to mechanical wear and environmental stress
  • Elastic Rubber-Like Finish
Cures to a flexible coating that accommodates substrate movement without cracking
  • Chemical & Hydrocarbon Resistance
Resists exposure to salts, gasoline, oils, antifreeze, and a wide range of industrial chemicals
  • Seamless Waterproofing Barrier
Creates a continuous membrane that prevents water and moisture penetration
  • Below-Grade Performance
Suitable for buried applications including foundations, tunnels, and subsurface structures
  • High Tensile Strength Development
Rapidly builds strength while maintaining excellent elongation properties
  • Versatile Application Use
Performs on vertical, pitched, and horizontal surfaces
  • Fast Curing System
Quick setting for reduced downtime and faster project completion
  • Repairable System
Can be repaired in the field without compromising system integrity
  • Long-Term Flexibility
Maintains elasticity and toughness over extended service life

AIM #1 Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, loose debris, oil, grease, or any contaminants that may interfere with proper adhesion.

Do not apply if substrate or ambient temperatures are expected to drop below 35°F (2°C) within 4 hours of application. The surface temperature must remain at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point during application and curing.

Application

Do not apply AIM #1 to wet, damp, or frozen surfaces. Application must be protected from precipitation for a minimum of 4 hours.

Stir thoroughly for at least 2 minutes using a low-speed drill prior to application. Do not thin the product.

Apply in two coats using a soft brush, medium-nap roller, or airless spray equipment. Use a smooth, even technique to achieve uniform coverage.

Spray Application

Use a 45:1 airless pump with a 1/2″ hose, a 3/8″ whip, and a 31 tip size.

Recommended Thickness

40 mils dry film thickness (DFT).

Drying & Curing Time

At 80°F (27°C) and 70% relative humidity:

  • Walkable: Approximately 24 hours
  • Walkable (with Andek Accelerator): Approximately 3 hours
  • Full Cure: Approximately 72 hours (to 55 Shore A hardness)
  • Full Cure (with Andek Accelerator): Approximately 24 hours (to 55 Shore A hardness)

Clean-Up

Clean tools and equipment with xylene or toluene before the coating begins to dry.

Storage

Store in a dry area away from direct sunlight and protect from freezing. Protect from moisture and contamination. Keep containers tightly sealed.

Shelf life is up to 2 years from the date of manufacture when stored in original, unopened containers between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C).

Disposal

Dispose of waste in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Incineration is the preferred method of disposal.

Safety Information

Read the product label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) prior to use for important health and safety information.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.
