High-Performance Reinforcing Additive for Urethane Coatings

OZ CATALYST is a formulated chemical additive featuring latent oxazolidone technology designed to significantly enhance the performance of approved Andek urethane-based coatings. When incorporated into compatible products, it transforms standard coatings into denser, highly crosslinked systems with superior chemical resistance and full-depth curing capability.

Engineered for demanding sealing, waterproofing, and protective applications, OZ CATALYST fortifies coatings to meet the most rigorous performance requirements.

Key Performance Benefits

  • Increases Crosslink Density – Enhances chemical resistance and durability
  • Full-Depth Cure Capability – Allows coatings to cure at virtually any thickness
  • Optimized Rheology – Improves coverage, penetration, and film build
  • Improved Tensile Strength – Increases strength without sacrificing elongation
  • Enhanced Puncture Resistance – Greater protection from mechanical damage
  • Cold-Temperature Cure Acceleration – Improves cure rate in cooler conditions
  • Surface Defect Reduction – Minimizes damage from hail and invasive precipitation
  • Encapsulation Performance – Locks down well-adhered coating remnants
  • Intrusion Resistance – Improves resistance to damage from birds, rodents, reptiles, and vermin

Usage ratio

1 quart Andek Accelerator/5 gallon of coating

Container sizes

1 quart

Technology:

Latent oxazolidone

Preparation and Application

Application
Before use, also read the product data sheet for the product that is being combined with OZ-CATALYST. OZ-CATALYST may be used with POLAROOF RAC, ROOFDX SUPER, ENCAPSALL SUPER, or AIM #1. The use of OZ-CATALYST with any other Andek product should only be attempted after thorough consultation with the Andek Technical Department.

Open the container of OZ-CATALYST and determine if it is liquid and free-flowing.  If it has been stored for any length of time below 50°F (10°C), it will have crystallized like honey.  If so, warm the container gently with an indirect  heat source at 100°F (38°C) until the OZ-CATALYST ’s consistency is thoroughly liquid.

Pour an entire quart container of OZ-CATALYST into a 5 gallon pail of Andek coating and stir thoroughly for 3 minutes using an Andek ProPower Mixer or similar, effective mechanical device. After thorough homogeneity has been achieved, let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes so that trapped air bubbles can rise up and escape from the coating mixture. Then apply the coating, following the instructions on the coating’s container label.

Pot Life
Approximately 6 hours at 70°F (21°C)

Storage
Store in a dry area and protect from direct sunlight and freezing. Keep container tightly sealed. Shelf life is 2 years from date of manufacture when stored in a factory sealed container between 45ºF (7ºC) and 90ºF (32ºC).

Disposal
Waste disposal must be in accordance with existing federal, state and local environmental control laws. Incineration is the preferred method of disposal.

Read the container label warning and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for important health and safety information prior to the use of this product.
