Description

SoftSand Rubber Particles

Non-Skid Additive. Comfortable, Durable Traction Enhancement.

SoftSand Rubber Particles are specially engineered to create safe, slip-resistant surfaces without the harshness of traditional aggregate. Designed for use in non-skid coating systems, these flexible rubber particles provide enhanced traction while maintaining a softer, more comfortable surface—ideal for barefoot and high-contact environments.

SoftSand can be easily incorporated into most coating systems by mixing directly into the material or by broadcasting onto a wet coating surface. Once encapsulated, the particles bond securely within the coating, delivering long-lasting performance without loosening or “popping out” as the surface wears.

Key Benefits

  • Non-Skid Performance – Improves traction for safer walking surfaces.
  • Comfortable Underfoot – Softer than sand or mineral aggregates, ideal for barefoot areas.
  • Durable Bonding – Designed to adhere within coatings, preventing particle loss over time.
  • Versatile Application Methods – Can be mixed into coatings or broadcast onto wet surfaces.
  • Wide Coating Compatibility – Suitable for use with urethanes, acrylics, epoxies, enamels, and more.
  • Long-Lasting Performance – Maintains effectiveness as the coating system wears.

Typical Applications

  • Boats and marine surfaces
  • Pool decks and surrounding areas
  • Patios and walkways
  • Agility and animal-use surfaces
  • Any area requiring slip resistance with user comfort

Application Guidelines

  • Mix-In Method:
Add approximately ¼ pint per quart or 1 pint per gallon of coating and apply by brush, roller, or spray.
  • Broadcast Method:
Sprinkle onto a wet coating surface, allow to dry, remove excess, then apply 1–2 topcoats to encapsulate.
